Welcome to the Reno region
Nestled along the Truckee River a few miles from the California border is the Biggest Little City in the World (along with our neighbor, Sparks). Surrounded on all sides by 8,000-ft+ peaks and sitting at around 4750-ft itself, our city of 250,000 people is known by another name “the adventure place,” which is why we are all here!
People come to Reno because they enjoy the outdoors, bustling nightlife, education, and carefree old west lifestyle. Where else can you hit the slopes, work on your loops, grab a cold Sierra Nevada from the tap house at the competition hole, shoot some craps, and get your groove on to the best musical acts in the world all in one day? Only Reno
Within a three hour drive you can get to every Class I-V+ run in the Sierra Nevada. With the two play parks available in town, several Class II sections and the Class IV gorge, the Truckee is awesome for when you want to stay close or just have an hour to get your boat wet. The American and Feather rivers are just over two hours away and release water year around for great playboating and creeking. Famous runs like South Silver and Fordyce are a little over an hour away. With several current and former world freestyle champions in residence you never know who you will be sharing the eddy with.
