The date is set for the 2012 NW Creeking Competition and we are excited to have everyone out for more fun and exciting competition!
This years event will challenge racers on two courses which includes Saturday’s East Fork Lewis race on the “Waterfall” stretch and Sunday’s more difficult course on Canyon Creek’s “Fly Creek to Lake Merwin” stretch.
Because of last years unexpected high water we have decided to pre-determine a high water cutoff mark in case a similar circumstances.
For the East Fork Lewis we have set a cutoff of 2700cfs on the Heisson gauge for the EFL course. After the cutoff mark we would change to course 2 or the Green Fork course which we raced last year.
For Canyon Creek we have set a cutoff mark of 1500 cfs nr Amboy. We do not have a alternate section for the CC course. If the water is higher then the set cutoff mark Sunday will be a day for adventurous paddling!
We are in the process of updating the NWCC website and will let paddlers know as soon as it is done. Until then you can check out the current site www.northwestcreekcomp.org we will send out regular updates!
