klean kanteen Insulated (Review)

We have all been there………….gift card for Christmas, but nothing to buy. As I am packing for my Rogue trip and I am thinking about taking my thermos for coffee and such when it hit me………….I got that REI gift card Christmas.  For a while I have been thinking about these new stainless steel water bottles that are insulated but nothing jumped out at me until I saw this. Klean kanteen has come out with a bottle that is not only insulated, but comes in three different sizes, 12, 16 and 20 ounce sizes. It also comes with klean kanteen’s patented stainless lid which does not let not plastic come in contact with the water. You can order a coffee lid which turns your klean kanteen into a great insulated coffee cup for caffeine on the go.

After going on REI’s website I noticed a negative review that states that the bottle does not keep liquids hot. This can be alleviated by “warming up” your bottle by adding hot water to it before adding your beverage. Another feature is that it fits the threads on most popular backcountry water filters which makes it very easy to stop on the river and fill your bottle anywhere.

So I order the bottle and it comes lightning fast (two days). What a piece of art!  Tall, slim and able to fit in the cup holder in your car. All 18/8 stainless steel with no lining whatsoever making for no off odors or tastes. This is great for me as I put coffee, hot cocoa, Gatorade, etc. in all my bottles for river trips. The coffee lid is an added plus as I can use it in my car for coffee and such. The cap it comes with can accept a carabiner to secure it in your boat or on your pack. The stainless design is perfect for the person who wants a no frills bottle that has many uses.

products_brushed_20ozinsulatedI know it sounds corny, but I think I finally found my true river bottle.acc_KWPPC_easyclean
