Welcome to Pennsylvania

Nestled in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains; The Lehigh River is only a few hours from New York, Philadelphia, and New Jersey. It offers several sections of river, each with its own characteristics. Whether it is your first time kayaking or you are working on more advanced skills, the river has something for everyone. It has a forgiving nature allowing for great learning ability. There are plenty of fun surfing spots along with some tricky slot moves. Paddlers can push themselves as hard as they choose on this class two and three playground.

Jim Thorpe, Weatherly, and White Haven are all towns the whitewater sections run through. They rely on the paddlers as well as other forms of tourism as a major economic factor. These are all friendly towns with and abundance of places to eat, drink, and stay before or after your day on the water. The Lehigh also has recreational dam releases from the Francis E. Walter Dam. These releases give paddlers the opportunity to enjoy this classic stretch of whitewater all summer.
