Clubs are a key part of the paddling community in NY/NJ. They are great way to get started in the sport and to get expert instruction and guidance. With this many clubs and members in this region there is sure to be a club close by that is doing something when you want to go. It is a great way to get to know the local paddlers and make friends. Most of our clubs have active instructional programs for beginners and novices with ACA certified instructors on hand. River trips and park and play are scheduled all summer long on local and regional rivers at all levels. Most trips also include a group dinner, camping or other activities. In the winter, all the clubs have pool sessions where we teach rolling and basic skills and allow everyone to practice whatever skills they need, from basic wet exits to flat water cartwheels and playboating moves.  Here is a list of the most active local clubs.
