Your Ambassador : John Lechmanik

I grew up in Southern California and got into whitewater boating while in Junior College (mid 1970’s).  I became very active in the Kern River area in C1, C2, K1 and rafting.  I remained active in whitewater until the late 1980s.

After retiring in 2010 I moved to Hood River, OR to pursue my passion of windsurfing.  I was able to rediscover my love of whitewater living in the Pacific Northwest.

I’m now lucky enough to get on the water over 100 days a year. I am active with the Oregon Kayak and Canoe Club (OKCC)  and Lower Columbia Canoe Club (lCCC). I am also active with the League of Northwest Whitewater Racers and the Hood River Kayak Polo.
