Welcome to the Chicago Region

Misicot Although mostly flat and unexciting, the Chicago Area has a few diamonds in the rough. Within a few hours of Chicago, there are a couple of rivers and dams with exceptional play potential, considering their obscure locations.
Traveling farther from Chicago, Northern Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Upper Peninsula Michigan provide a much different experience with steep creeks, gaping gorges, large drops, and big water.

Current Throwdown Standings

Currently there aren't and paddlers participating in the World Kayak Throwdown Amateur Ranking Program for the Chicago Region. To participate you need to Register for and attend a WK Throwdown event as a PAID member of World Kayak ($10.00 annually).

If you are already registered or competed this year, you can still Get Ranked and complete your registration. (Your previous scores will be included in our system.)
