If you weren’t in south bend last Sunday, you weren’t having as much fun as the 18 of us that were there.
That’s right… it sucks to be you.
But you can read about the fun times, and see some cool pictures, and pretend you were there (you can even photoshop your face over Jeff’s sexy body… I won’t tell anyone).
So are you ready to re-live the experience?
We had 18 people there… 6 competed in beginner, 4 in advanced… and 8 people wanted to conserve their energy to kick butt in boatercross (but promptly lost their energy when cheering on the boaters with the best style).
Mike took first place, following the mantra: “spin to win”
John took second, for having the most stylish swim (of the beginner class)
And Jason took third with this record breaking back surfs.
Points as follows…
Mike C.: 21
Mike M.: 11
Michelle: 8 <<<she should have gotten more style points for being a mom, boating on mothers day.
In the advanced group, Kevin, having not been in his boat for as long as any of us can remember (maybe october?) somehow pulled more than one splitwheel out of his pocket and took first place.
Jeff’s ends were out of control getting him massive technical points, and won the maximum style points for the most epic moment of the weekend with his paddle throw, belly-flop, wave to the crowd while swimming, combo move.
Not to be forgotten, was Conner, who definitely deserves and honorable mention for the most memorable facial expressions… which can be seen in the South bend Tribune.
Scores for the Advanced group:
Me: …it’s not the points that matter
Following tradition, we had our usual, crazy all-at-once boatercross event. Kevin’s momentum continued into boatercross where he took first place again… although I’m sure the fact Jeff was holding onto Mike and Adrian’s boat had nothing to do with it
Hope everyone had fun. Big thanks to Jason and Jeff for being out there to release the water. Jason for setting up the boatercross gates, for Angela for taking 1,000 pictures on my camera, and all the world kayak sponsors for donating cool prizes for me to dangle in front of people.
PS…. don’t forget that the Yorkville throwdown is this saturday!
