About Charlotte

DSCN6181-2Welcome to the Charlotte region

The Charlotte region sits within any number of great whitewater destinations. The USNWC or center has been open now and pumping water since 2007. It is the official National Training Center for whitewater athletes and has become a growing whitewater attraction for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. It is a great place to learn to kayak and the competition channel will challenge experienced boaters too. But this region boasts of much more for the paddler. Fortunately here in the Queen city we are very close to many different types of rivers. We have great access to relaxing less challenging whitewater, some great creek runs in our backyard and even some killer play spots scattered about. We are also close to some of the most challenging whitewater in the state. Many of the bigger rivers in NC are within about 2 hours of Charlotte. No matter what it is you are looking for you can find it close to Charlotte.
