We made some new boating friends and practiced rescue skill at the River Rescue Rodeo held at First Street Rapid in Bend, Oregon. After some fun play in the surf wave we practiced with the throw ropes. There was significant improvement and we discussed the technique for a second throw. We worked on safely entering swift water to minimize injury. We also worked on live bait and strong swimmer rescue. This was a great start to river rescue training here in Central Oregon and we discussed how we can continue having training events in the future.
After much fun surfing we got down to business
