2012 Event Schedule
April 14th (Sat) – Location: M.A.C.K. fest (www.mackfest.ca) Event FREESTYLE.
Come join us at the Marmora Area Canoe & Kayak Festival and participate in the M.A.C.K. fest freestyle event on Saturday April 14th. Sign up will be at M.A.C.K. fest headquarters on Saturday morning 9:00am. Check M.A.C.K. fest website for more details (www.mackfest.ca)
June 19th (Tues) – Location: Burleigh Falls Ontario. Event FUN RUN RACE SERIES.
One night a week during the summer months Kawartha Whitewater Paddlers (K.W.P.) host a paddling event. Anywhere from 20 to 40 paddlers will paddle and participate in this fun ongoing event throughout the summer. The event changes weekly and includes boater crosses, slalom, down river races, relays, etc. Points are tallied weekly and prizes are given out weekly and at the end of the season. Events are geared for everyone to participate, so come out one and all. Paddling begins at 6:00pm followed by event at 7:30pm. BBQ and social follow paddling. August 25th (Sat) – Location: Burleigh Falls Ontario. Event FUN RUN RACE SERIES and YEAR END BBQ.
This is the final KWP / World Kayak Fun Run Race Series event. It is also the summer ending BBQ, awards and party. Previous years have seen cardboard boat races and whitewater paddling scavenger hunts, who knows what this year will bring. Points are tallied up at the end of the event and prizes are awarded for Overall Winner, Top Female and Participation Award. Whether you been out paddling all summer or coming to this event for the first time it is always a fun and friendly atmosphere, so come out and get wet.
