Corn Creek Park in Wetumpka has been closed

As of January this year, the city of Wetumpka, Alabama has closed the historic Corn Creek Park. The reasons that they say is that people are abusing the park, however this is not the whole truth. The Coosa Paddling Club has worked very hard to keep the park cleaned and looking good. Now the city has been having a hard time keeping an eye on the park and letting people do what they what. By doing this they are using this type of neglect to close the park and they also do not want the park anymore because of the up keep. But the sad thing is that the paddling club is doing the up keep. The people of the paddling and non-paddling need to make a voice for the park and I hope that the city knows that this park is a life line to the river.
